Would you/are you capable of/is it likely that you would buy commissions from me?

You know what? I’m going to do an experiment.

I’m going to leave this track here, completely unmarked, and tag it with everything I can. If you like it, reblog it, give it some notes. If you don’t, ignore it and move on with your life. I’ll tag it with a bunch of fandoms, so people can hear it.

Just out of curiosity. Press play and see what happens.

I’ll give you one hint: I consider it beautiful.

This track makes me really emotional? It’s so pretty.

  • men get into something not aimed at their gender: get special titles like "brony." recognition by creators. heralded for defying gender appeal. get documentary.
  • women get into something not aimed at their gender: not real fans. probably secret friend zone warriors deadset on erasing men from the human race. get insulting demeaning memes and sexual harassment.

katherine, for alex. she’ll be doing an art trade with me, i’m pumped
man i just ended up drawing katherine looking like alex
she’s so dang cute

always.

you know regardless of how old/bad the art and how stupid you think my caption might be i do not appreciate having it removed!!

…..youre mad because i removed a caption saying youre indecisive? thats a little ridiculous.

i’m not mad, i’m annoyed! you can think it’s ridiculous but i (and other artists!) don’t like having their captions removed, no matter what they are.

it was a caption that had nothing to do with the creation or creator of the art. ive NEVER had anyone bitch at me for that before. other artists that ive interacted with only get mad if you remove their source or hell, something that actually dealt with the work they did. dont be ‘annoyed’ because i didnt care that you were indecisive.

i’m sorry but that was the artist you were just being rude to. it was her art, her caption. you don’t remove the captions. by rule of thumb you shouldn’t. there are those who don’t mind but it’s safer not to. i know i’ve given up and not cared about my art but it kind of hurts when you remove the comments that actually is a story in itself to creating that particular art post.

i saw no story in the caption. if she wanted me to keep her name or whatever, thats chill, but i see absolutely no point in keeping a caption that has no association. if i dont like them, i will delete them, sorry im not sorry.

honestly i do not understand why it’s such a big deal just to leave it? you can add ‘always’ right under it and still leave my caption, it would probably take less effort to just type ‘always’ than to delete my caption and THEN put ‘always’. besides that, it just respects the artist, which is something you should do regardless of whether or not you see ‘story’ in the caption!
it’s my art, i get to caption it whatever the fuck i want to!! you don’t get to decide if it’s worthy of staying there or not.

and you dont get to decide whats ‘worthy’ of being on my blog. ill respect you if you want me to add your name or something, but thats it.

ok, wait. let me get this straight.
my ART is ok to be on your blog. my NAME is ok on your blog.
but when it comes to just leaving a caption that says ‘i am so indecisive it hurts’ that’s where you draw the line? that’s where respect ends?
this is stupid. just respect people! respect their words and their art and don’t be such a jackass! i am done here goodbye

Kids, this discourse makes me want to remind everyone:
We make the internet what we want.
If we choose to be disrespectful or rude to the people who make our content, and want to look at it and share it, then they’re probably not going to want to make more content. They’ll be discouraged. They’ll feel bad about opening any sort of discourse with their communities, and it’s no good for anyone.
If we choose to be respectful to the people who make the content we like, then we encourage them to make more of it. We show them we appreciate it. If we’re friendly to them and understand that they are the creators, we contribute to a happy and helpful community.
Tumblr, and our artistic communities, are what we make of them. Just because you can be a jerk, doesn’t mean you should. Artists don’t, as it happens, owe you their undying gratitude for reblogging a piece of their art. But they will appreciate it, and if you appreciate them, you’re making our time here better.
Let’s be kind to our artists, and kind to each other. The internet is a hellish, anarchic wasteland in the way the world can be - only if we let it. (Let’s be a little nicer, shall we?)

A friend asked me to write an essay on why people read fanfiction, but I thought I’d ask you guys as well: Why do you read fanfiction?

Hello, new followers. I didn’t know you were coming. Otherwise, I’d have prepared some tasty fan art rather than serving up a cold dish of ‘me talking mostly about boring things’. But stick around! I’ve got lemonade in the fridge.
